Samina Makani, M.D.

A medical graduate of the Univeristy of Pune, India, Dr. Samina Makani completed her
residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, prior
to joining Women's Integrative Health in October of 2007.

During her residency, she was appointed as the Chief Administrative Resident for
2004-2005 and received several awards including the Hippocrates Award given to the
resident of the year, and the Resident Research Award for her publication related to
cancer in women.

She strongly believes in patient education, actively involving her patients in their
medical decision making, and allowing ample time for her patients to discuss all their
concerns. Dr. Makani reviews the medical literature continually to ensure that her
patients receive the most up to date information. Her practice encompasses the full
breadth of women's health related to both obstetrics and general gynecology, with
specific interests in adolescent gynecology, menopause, and minimally invasive
surgery.

Dr. Makani is married and lives in Cardiff, California. She enjoys reading, cooking,
traveling, and is also fluent in Hindi and Gujarati.

Dr. Makani is a Board Eligible Physician and Surgeon by the American Board of
Obstetrics & Gynecology. She is in good standing with the California Medical Board and
a member of the California Medical Association and the American College of Obstetrics
and Gynecology.
